Instrumentation Apprenticeship with Trefoil Controls

Due to continued expansion Trefoil Controls is seeking applications for our 4 Year Instrumentation Apprenticeship

What is Instrumentation?

An Instrumentation craftsperson works in the maintenance and repair of all instruments used in the measurement and control of process variables (e.g. in the chemical industry to measure and control the temperature, pressure and flow, as appropriate, in various points of the process).

How long is the Trefoil Controls Instrumentation Apprenticeship?
The Trefoil Controls Instrumentation Apprenticeship is a 4 year programme allowing you to earn as you learn. The programme consists of four on-the-job phases and three off-the-job phases in an educational organisation. Apprentices will have to attend their off-the-job training phases as per availability in the SOLAS scheduling system.

What qualifications/experience do I need to apply?
To be eligible for our Instrumentation Apprenticeship Programme you will need a minimum pass grade in your Leaving Certificate with a high knowledge and understanding of Mathematics (and Physics would be beneficial). A full clean B1 driving licence would be viewed as an advantage. The successful candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, be driven to gain further education and training and have the ability to work as part of a team. Please note for entry to this apprenticeship applicants are required to undergo a SOLAS-approved colour vision test and medical assessment.

What Qualification will I receive after completing the Apprenticeship?
The apprenticeship programme is deemed to be complete when an apprentice has successfully completed all on-the-job and off-the-job phases of their apprenticeship, which is a minimum of four years in duration from the date of registration. Upon successful completion of the Instrumentation Apprenticeship, the apprentice is awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Instrumentation.

When does the Instrumentation Apprenticeship Start?
1st March 2019

What Qualification will I receive after completing the Apprenticeship?
The apprenticeship programme is deemed to be complete when an apprentice has successfully completed all on-the-job and off-the-job phases of their apprenticeship, which is a minimum of four years in duration from the date of registration. Upon successful completion of the Instrumentation Apprenticeship, the apprentice is awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Instrumentation.

Where will the Apprenticeship be based?
As an Instrumentation Apprentice with Trefoil Controls Ltd you will be required to work in multiple locations around Ireland. This allows you to gain valuable experience in industries including; Biopharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Manufacturing and other sectors.
